This unforgettable vintage belt buckle features “Tony the Angus,” a sculptural tribute rendered in solid brass with Bergamot Brass Works’ signature depth and detail. The front showcases a powerful Angus bull wearing a cowboy hat, framed by the inscription “In Memory of Angus” with dates 1886–1922, blending Western imagery with classic Bergamot wit.
The reverse reveals the buckle’s darker humor, reading:

along with the original © Bergamot Brass Works 1974 mark and maker insignia.
Features the satirical ‘Local No. 101’ mark—part of Bergamot Brass Works’ signature 1970s humor and storytelling style.

“Brutally butchered by Wyoming meat slashers, local no. 101”
That line is intentionally shocking — this is 1970s protest art against industrial slaughter.
This buckle was part of Bergamot’s political-ecology series — only a handful were made before some designs were quietly pulled because they upset sponsors.
